Captain Henry Martin

Captain Henry Martin was one of our first Scout Masters and went on to be Scout Commissioner for this area.
He lost his life during the Battle of the Somme in September 1916. Click here to read more about his life and death.
Recently our whole group visited the Village War Memorial in Lingfield and laid a wreath in his memory.
He left a letter to be passed on to Scouts in the event of his death.
